PIKE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
6701 ZIONSVILLE ROAD, INDIANAPOLIS
The mid and late Romantic composers featured in this concert (Manual de Falla, 1876-1946; Edvard Grieg, 1843-1907; and Anatol Lyadov, 1855-1914) created music to evoke specific people, places, or ideas. We explore the myriad of moods created by de Falla's El Sombrero de Tres Picos (The Three-Cornered Hat, Suite 2); Lyadov's The Enchanted Lake; and Grieg's Holberg Suite for Strings. And a special Halloween treat - the Overture to Die Fledermaus (The Bat) by Johann Strauss II (1825-1899)!
