Orcenith Smith’s leadership has been acclaimed in concert after concert with reviews of his performances garnering words like “triumphant” and “dazzling.” An honors graduate of the Cincinnati Conservatory, he is currently the Director of Orchestras and Opera at DePauw University. Past distinctions include the music directorships of the Chicago Youth Symphony and our own Philharmonic Orchestra, winner of an ASCAP Award for “Adventuresome Programming” at DePauw, and being named the inaugural recipient of the Cassel Grubb University Professorship at DePauw in 1999. He has been on the podiums of the Seattle Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, the Dayton Philharmonic, and the Terre Haute, Lafayette, and Carmel Symphony Orchestras.
(1875 – 1937) was a French composer, pianist and conductor and is associated, along with Claude DeBussy, with impressionism. In the 1920s and 1930s Ravel was internationally regarded as France's greatest living composer. Ravel incorporated elements of modernism, baroque, and jazz into his works. His best known experiment with musical form is Bolero. He is also known for his orchestral arrangements of other composers' piano music, of which his 1922 version of Pictures at an Exhibition (Mussorosky) is the best known.

Drawing inspiration from history, mythology, and nature, Jordan Jinosko is a celebrated, multi-award-winning composer in both the concert and media music industries. Jinosko’s compositions, praised for their “subtle and powerful” qualities and “cinematic scope” (Wisconsin Public Radio) have been performed in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Kimmel Center. Her music has been featured on the radio, on streaming platforms, and at major music events such as the Midwest Clinic, ASTA National Orchestra Festival, and the Interlochen Arts Festival.

Beethoven (1770 – 1827) was a German composer and pianist and remains one of the most revered figures in the history of Western music. His works span the transition from the classical period to the romantic era in classical music. From 1812 onward,, he extended his innovations in musical form and expression despite experiencing growing deafness.
